The directions included with this was the biggest issue for us. It was extremely unclear with the muddled pictures. I understand the picture instructions...but when you can't tell in the picture what goes where because the dimensions are different from the physical object in front of you, that's a problem. I would have liked word instructions as well. Additionally- while I liked the parts were stamped with the identifying letter...it didn't help that some stamps were illegible and some parts weren't stamped at all. It was like the most confusing 3D jigsaw puzzle ever made. Took us a total of 3 days to put it together because we had to redo sections. Some holes were misaligned and overall, this was extremely frustrating to put together. And I enjoy putting furniture together (I know...I'm weird). That said - this is a beautiful, sturdy bunk bed. I am actually really glad I bought it. It matches the rest of the furniture in the house beautifully and my kids love it. I would totally recommend this - just make sure to have extra hands, a pen light, power tools, and a boatload of patience in whatever form it may take for you to put this together. You'll need it all.Granted I was doing it solo, but there are so many unique pieces that even with another set of hands I think it would be a tough install. I was constantly trying to get a better view on how each piece was to be oriented so as to fit together with the whole. The directions did not have any diagrams that were zoomed in, which made things always seem a bit tenuous. Even now that its been together for a couple months, I'm noticing cosmetically a couple boards that should have been positioned slightly different.Once together, its very solid and a great fit for my 6-year old. He loves the stairs and storage. The trundle piece is stand alone so looks good when under the bed, but could technically be stored and just pulled out when needed.Overall I do like it and would recommend as long as you can endure the frustrating assembly.Sturdiness(2)The feel of the wood and how light they are is questionable. Then again the bed isn’t assembled yet.Thickness (4)The main frame looks to be of decent thickness. However if or when I can actually properly put this together I will give my second opinion.Easy (0)They should seriously give us discounts for figuring out how to put this together, I mean C’mon! Typically when something needs to be assembled and comes in 3 different big long boxes you would think they would label the part themself! Not this fun nightmare contraption. Yes it comes with assembly instructions, and I love how it’s labeled on the instructions on the pieces themselves. I hope the seller decides to fix this infuriating problem.I told my kids “How ever this bed looks in the end, your sleeping in it. Screws out and unsupported frames and all!”......kidding of course, or am I?This is AMAZING!!! We have three little boys that share a room in an apartment. This allows for maximum floor space left for playing. Because it only takes up the room for one twin size plus dresser (steps). Perfect for the two that live here full time and the trundle for my step son who is here on weekends. It comes in three huge boxes and is very heavy. Help is not required to build, but would be most beneficial. My husband and I did it over a period of two days. We didn’t need it to be put together in one day though. But it is possible. Takes a few hours. Good and sturdy design. Love the color too!!!I liked that it appeared to be well made- time will tell There were a few dents in the wood however, I could not wait for replacement. Was fairly easy to assemble but some areas do require more than one person. Bottom bunk needs to have the pillow on the stair side or it falls through the headboard opening. Would be nice if there were covers for the screws. Purchased the stairs do to the child having a disability and stairs are more feasible than a ladder. Also, would be nice if there was an opening on the stair side instead of climbing over. Now that I have had for a while it is wobbly. I am checking all the screws as I don't know why.We weren't expecting R&F quality, but seriously? Every piece of wood had scratches, nicks, dents, or was smashed. Predrilled holes were non existent; we had to create our own holes. Nothing lined up, there are gaps everywhere. The hardware was not labeled, fun figuring out what was what. Half of the pieces of wood were mislabeled; b11 was really c4, etc. It took my husband and I over 8 hours to assemble. What a nightmare!!! Wish we would have spent an extra couple hundred and bought elesewhere!!! Also important to note that it is wobbly! And when my 40lb daughter sits in the top bunk, the wood slats bow. ?‍♀️An 8 and 5 year old will be okay on this, but I would not recommend it simply because the materials are not all cut correctly and the instructions suck. Plain and simply put; get a different brand. When unpacking the bed parts were damaged enough that had to be glued together parts were missing good thing my husband is is mr fix he had the extra part's it it took him almost aday waiting for glue to dry finding parts Instructionsthat were notall that Informative and I should paid more attention to how Narrow the stair are.
