Love this platform bed. Fit right inside our bed frame.Deciding factors / reasons for excellent rating:Much sturdier frame than most others with weight capacity 3500 lbs, frame is thicker/sturdier than a previous thinner one we hadNon squeak - with the sturdier frame it's much much more supportive and no squeak/noise at all from the framePrice - reasonably pricedShipping - compact/small box for shipping, package weight 49 lbs. Don't be surprised by the number of pieces, it's actually very simple to put together once you see the instructions and easiest with 2 peopleBed feels like a new bed and our king mattress fits perfect, no overhang like our previous frame and our wrap around bed skirt also has the perfect form fit with this frame, excellent product. Very happy with this purchase!Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Recommend!Cheap junk the welds broke when assembling the product I had to drill my own holes and use a different bolt to hold it togetherEDIT:9/9 Frame still going strong. I need to add. the foot cap issue I mentioned was user error. The caps were attached to the feet upon closer inspection. The seller did ship new feet so disregard the part about missing feet caps. My mistake.EDIT: 8/27 I reached out to the seller regarding the missing foot caps for the foundation. They were quick to respond and apologized. They also air mail express shipped several replacement plastic foot caps. For this I am upping my stars to 5. Not sure if this is an issue with all of these units but worth looking into if ordering.picked this foundation up so we could get rid of our aging box springs.frame arrived weighing in at about 50 lbs so keep that in mind.assembly was fairly straight forward and the instructions were easy to understand.assembly took about 45 minutes. This included moving the old bed and frame and box springs. I would imagine this could be done with one person but the wife helped which made it easier.A couple things when assembling. Do not over tighten the bolts. You run the risk of cracking the threaded area i imagine as it is well made but still...Another thing. When assembling I would suggest not putting the frame pieces on end where pressure is being put on the corner pieces. Another possibility of cracking something which I would guess may be what happened in a different review. Just lay it flat and bite the bullet and get on the floor when assembling. The center pieces just snap into place so there weren't half as many bolts needed as we thought. The long rail pieces come already assembled and hinged from the factory. The unit is sturdy and made no noise when we layed on it. The mattress did not slide around (So far)There is ample space underneath for storage as well.THIS IS IMPORTANT: We have two dogs. One is 80 lbs and senior and uses steps to get up on the bed. The first thing that happened was he slipped like he some times does and one of his paws went between the mattress and into one of the spaces between the slots in the frame. We remedied this by putting a piece of cardboard over the top of that section of the frame. It's sturdy enough to hold his weight If he slips and doesn't slide around.Another thing and this really only pertains to us and getting used to the new frame. Watch those rails and corners. They will do a number on your shin if you aren't paying attention as they are very stout. Now for my only negative. The unit did not come with plastic covers for the feet on the corners of the bed. So its just metal on the carpet. The middle feet do have the plastic ends. So not sure what's going on here with that. I reached out to the seller and will update when they get back to me. I suppose you could put some furniture pads under them as well. All in all happy with this purchase and will adjust my rating depending on what the seller has to say about the feet of the unit.Fitting a king-sized bed frame in a box that is 41x10x6 is nothing short of amazing. They have so modularized this that you can get a really big bed frame through standard mail delivery. Wow!. So as we open it up and take things out it becomes obvious why the package weighs as much as it does. The advertising photo shows that there really is no need for a box spring any longer. There are so many cross slats - 11 on each side of the center support - that the concept of purchasing a mattress and box spring set will go the way of the dinosaurs. As one who has moved many a sibling's entire household I don't mind the idea of having one less thing to move, although the mattress is far the worse of the two to carry. This frame is designed to be very easy to construct. It has foldable side and center rails. The cross slats simply slip down into U-shaped holders on the rails, and the cross slats have plastic inserts on the ends to avoid sharp edges and keep the potential for squeaking to a minimum. On that matter I also will be shooting self-tapping, sheet metal screws into every connection between the slats and the rails. Our current bed with wood slats squeaks and creaks and groans so much I want to make certain I have a quiet sleep for a change. The height of the frame is what first caught my eye. We cannot get a regular vacuum, nor a robo-vacuum, under our bed, and it is kind of scary under there. Since I likely will integrate the old bed frame into placing it around this frame, since it is a beautiful mahogany bed, I will shorten these legs until the mattress sits at just the right height to not look out of place. I then will shoot some screws through the sides of this frame into the side rails of the mahogany bed. I'm used to doing these kinds of modifications, but they really aren't that difficult if you have some fairly basic tools available. This will make a good little winter project, and it will be so nice to get rid of the wooden inner sections of our current bed. This was a good thing to get and it is very well thought out.The frame is made very well from thick steel. No complaints with it as it will also allow me to put my mattress directly on the frame itself. Easy to assembly, but made need another pair of hands. The box it comes in is easy enough to carry as there are no long piece to make it awkward.
